โ€” About Us โ€”

Signal In.
Noise Out.

We cover the AI tools and companies that matter โ€” with the depth the subject deserves and none of the hype it usually gets.

Why we started

AI moves faster than any technology cycle in recent memory. Most coverage is either breathless hype or reflexive dismissal โ€” and neither helps the engineers, founders, and operators who actually need to make decisions about these tools.

SIGNAL exists to fill that gap. We write for people who are building with AI, investing in it, or making product decisions around it. That audience needs substance, not scores on a benchmark. We prioritize analysis over announcements and depth over distribution.

What we cover

Our beat is applied AI โ€” the tools and platforms reshaping how software gets built and how work gets done. That includes foundation models (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok), the infrastructure layer, enterprise adoption patterns, and the startups building on top of all of it.

GPT
ChatGPT & OpenAI
Model updates, enterprise adoption, and the frontier lab's platform strategy.
CLA
Claude & Anthropic
Constitutional AI, enterprise deployments, and the quiet play for regulated industries.
GEM
Gemini & Google
Search-scale distribution, Workspace integration, and the most embedded AI on earth.

Our principles

Who reads SIGNAL

Our audience is roughly 60% builders โ€” engineers, product managers, and founders shipping AI-powered products โ€” and 40% operators โ€” executives, investors, and decision-makers who need to understand where the category is heading. About 12,400 people subscribe to our weekly briefing, and thousands more read us through RSS, the blog, and syndication partners.
